Shoes glorious shoes!

With the help of my niece I've decided to start an online consignment shop (more on that in a future blog).  While researching the current market value of my wares, I stumbled upon a beautiful pair of Donna Karan peep-toe raffia pumps in Whisper Grey.

Wearing this summer staple would transform me into a towering 5'8" glamazon!  Not for the faint of heart, the heel measures approximately 145mm/5.5 inches with a 30mm/1 inch platform. These shoes will perfectly transform a dress or rolled-up jeans from day to evening and beyond the weekend by simply slipping into them.

At $795 USD, on Net-a-Porter the price is steep as the heel, but afterall we are taking about shoes.

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa Lady Dragon Shoes

I spent the better part of a rainy Sunday relentlessly searching for the cutest shoes that would make any girl's feet smile.  They are the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa Lady Dragon Heart.  They cost around $150 CDN and are made of scented rubber/PVC.

I ran across a similar pair on Queen Street West in Toronto about a year ago and my friend Elaine owns the Lady Dragon II Orb Shoe in red.  They were gifted to her from her friend Helen who owns The Shoe Gallery in Ayrshire, Scotland.  From what I recall and to Elaine's testament, the plastic is comfortable and don't make your feet sweaty.

To say I became obsessed with sourcing these adorable shoes would be an understatement.  After a 3-hour relentless search and an email to Elaine begging her to enlist her friend 'Helen with the shoe store in Prestwick's' help, I managed to stumble across my new object of desire unbeknownst to me, at Helen's store online.

With the help of Elaine and Helen there'll be a spring in my step as I aimlessly wander the streets of Toronto in this lovely lady.

My First Love

Shoes. Other than a new pair of Buster Brown’s to start each school year, my fascination with all things shoes began with my Aunt’s marabou slippers as a child. Today my objects of desire are Christian Louboutin shoes, with their patented signature red sole and technical secrets that make sexy 4-inch heels easy to walk in.

Not only am I mesmerized by his shoes, I adore the artist to a point of obsession.  I could read articles and watch videos on the shoe expert waxing poetically about his craft ad nauseam.  The day I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Louboutin at a downtown TO store, I thanked him for creating beautiful shoes for a woman who is also a girl, and a girl who is a woman. Je t'aime <3.
